FAQ's
The initial appointment is a chance for you and your child to meet their therapist and discuss goals, concerns and expectations. The therapist will learn and observe your child through play, conversation, and observation, looking at your child's fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, play, and self-care abilities.
For your child’s first appointment, it is helpful to bring any relevant reports and documents that can give your therapists a clear picture of your child’s needs. Your child is also welcome to bring any items that support their regulation.
An occupational therapist works with your children to help them develop and improve skills needed for everyday activities such as fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive and social skills. They work with children and families to overcome challenges and support independence, promoting overall growth and development.
Both onsite therapy sessions and outreach sessions are 1 hour, including 45mins therapy time and 15 mins writing time. An initial consultation is 75mins long, including 45mins for assessment, 15 mins writing time and 15 min of assessment interpretation.
